Whether choosing to use ring lights or photography lighting with soft boxes, we recommend having 3 lights, positioned as shown in the photo. You want to aim for 2 lights off to the side of you at about a 45 degree angle and 1 above you or 1 to light from behind you but out of camera view. Think big production when you are setting up your performance area.
